2020 Ideas for "showing off"
Hey all -
First, it was nice to 'see' everyone on Saturday during the Zoom meetup. Great to meet some new people, too! I'd asked during the chat what the group's thoughts were about displaying everyone's work since BrickFair seems to be heading into 'no-go' territory for most everyone. (I definitely won't be going and I heard similar sentiment from others on Saturday.) Now, I ask the question because my career is in PR/Marketing/Communications/Social Media, so I'm always thinking about that public facing view. And I'd like to offer to help in some way to help people show off their ideas, MOCs, setups, LEGO rooms, etc. I think making a fun photo-and-video compilation for everyone to enjoy, even if it's just the internal WAMALUG members, would be a fun distraction until we can all get back together again. At the least, I was thinking putting a call out each month on a theme, maybe "your latest MOC" or "How do you LEGO" or something. If we gather photos and easy-shot video (using a phone is pretty basic), I can dress them all up a little into a compilation that can be shared however the group would like. Or not, that's cool too. I know I tend to have that itch sometimes when I finish something and find time to take photos; figured some of you do as well. Anyway, just a thought. I'll catch you all in June, most likely on Zoom again. Stay safe. |

Sounds like a fun idea. Every since browsers dropped support for Java virtually killing the site MOC-Pages, shows have been the only time I get to show of my stuff, and now of course I don't even get to do that!

Is anyone going to the virtual BrickWorld tomorrow? Might be worth checking out for ideas. https://brickworld.com/brickworld-virtual-may-16/ On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 8:34 PM scottthewaterwarrior via groups.io <scottthewaterwarrior=yahoo.com@groups.io> wrote: Sounds like a fun idea. I didn't know about it until I saw this but I went online just now and bought a ticket. But it didn't send me an email about how to virtually attend it. Only one confirming my purchase... I know it is through zoom but it didn't give a zoom link or password. Did you get one?

Amber, as far as I know, you log into your Brickworld account, go to My Page, and from there choose which room you want to visit. There is no password according to their ‘buy a ticket’ page. At least that is what I understood...

P.S. Thank you, Gene! That worked for me. I had created the account at the time of purchase so I wasn't familiar with the format! Appreciate it!
